Charlie Murphy, the older brother of Eddie Murphy has passed away at the age of 57 from leukemia, according to multiple sources.
Murphy was a talented writer, comedian, and actor. He is most well-known for his work on Comedy Central’s sketch comedy show “Chappelle’s Show”.
In addition to Chappelle’s Show, he appeared in full length films such as Night At The Museum (2006) and Norbit (2007) the latter of which he co-wrote with his younger brother Eddie Murphy. He also appeared numerous television shows including “Teenage Mutant Nina Turtles”, “Black Jesus”, “Are We There Yet”, and “The Boondocks”.
Murphy was an accomplished stand-up comedian that toured internationally.
His wife unfortunately passed away in 2009. He leaves behind three children.
Numerous celebrities have taken to Twitter to express their condolences.
